Companies running Sage 100 version 2018 and newer CAN install the latest Payroll versions without upgrading their main Sage 100 systems.  The 2019 01,02,03 (and upcoming 04) updates contain many, many improvements, tweaks and fixes, and tax-law changes planned for September 2019 will require payroll changes. Getting on the most current release of Sage payroll is advised since it is the version guaranteed to receive payroll program changes required by tax law changes. If you have payroll custom-modifications or other connected systems, review with those vendors before installing payroll updates.

To comply with reporting requirements that must be in place by September 30, 2019, Employee Maintenance Additional tab changes are planned for Payroll version 2.19.4, available by early September:

Component 2 EEO-1 Compensation Data changes.

  • Changes to the Ethnicity/Race field—the required categories will be updated
  • New Job Category field with the 10 required job categories available for selection
